I was in church and I was looking at the younger generation and it suddenly hit me. What the old people were telling us in Catechism classes (Sunday school for the Protestants) is actually true. Coz let’s be honest, old people are bullshit a lot of the time. But I actually now know what they mean...
We all know that teaching starts at home and all those clichés but damn this one was on point.
The traditions and teachings are really watering down as there is no influence from the elders as they are either dead or could not really care anymore.
When I was younger I thought that they were hyping it up that we should start leading by example and felt that at that age I was too young for that but now I see what they meant, and right now one cannot be that example as we are not around that much. The people that took up the challenge of leading by example are either very hypocritical or are just messed up right about now.
This was a serious reality check for me and next time, take it from me. Believe the hype! And the old folk!
